A family is grieving the sudden loss of a 24-year-old woman who died Monday after suffering a heart attack, despite rapid intervention by Emergency Medical Services personnel. According to Antigua News Room, EMS technicians responded to reports of an unresponsive young woman and immediately began life-saving measures at the scene.
First responders deployed an automated external defibrillator and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before transporting her to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. A motorist recorded footage of two EMS units making the journey from Buckleys to the hospital shortly after midday.
Resuscitation efforts continued throughout the transport, but the woman was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
EMS management extended condolences to the woman's family and publicly acknowledged the dedication of the response team. Medics Coull Graham, Timra Mourillon, Deika Alfred, and Marina Walker were each commended for their efforts in attempting to save her life.
