BARBUDA, Antigua and Barbuda, April 13, 2026 — Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate Kendra Beazer is calling for more responsive leadership in Barbuda, arguing that the upcoming April 30 general election represents a critical opportunity for the island to secure stronger national representation. According to Antigua News Room, Beazer made the remarks at a political meeting in Barbuda, where he told supporters that "enough is enough."

"Barbudans deserve leadership — leadership that listens, leadership that delivers," Beazer said.

Beazer thanked supporters for their backing and pledged to remain a consistent advocate for the community throughout the campaign and beyond.

"I vow to represent your best interests at every point in this journey," he said.

Positioning himself as a familiar and trusted figure in Barbuda, Beazer acknowledged his public profile while emphasising his commitment to service. "Everybody knows Kendra Beazer… but what you cannot take from me is my ability to serve my community," he said.

He urged voters to keep their own interests at the forefront when heading to the polls. "Remember that you're voting for your interests and the interests of your community. You are electing a representative to look out for your best interests, not somebody that is going to look out for their self."

Beazer described his campaign as a grassroots effort and a "labor movement for the people of Barbuda," centred on unity and community development. "Our manifesto is centered on people and the place of Barbuda… we're not a platform of division… we're a people of love, of community and resilience," he said.

A central theme of his address was the push for stronger Barbudan representation at the Cabinet level. "We are going to send somebody in Cabinet to speak on the issues of Barbuda," Beazer said. "The one-size-fits-all don't work… that is our message, a Barbuda-first message."

Beazer also took direct aim at his opponent's record, claiming there has been little progress to show after an extended period in government. "If my opponent would be honest enough with himself, he would walk away… understanding that he has served 7,500 days in government and nothing substantial to show for the people of Barbuda," he said.

Closing his remarks, Beazer called on supporters to mobilise ahead of election day. "On the 30th of April, you will get your opportunity to elect a representative that represents your interests," he said.
