A family is reeling in shock after a 24-year-old woman died of a sudden heart attack on Monday, despite determined efforts by emergency responders to save her life. According to Antigua.news, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were dispatched to Buckleys shortly after midday following reports that the young woman was unresponsive.
Upon arrival, emergency medical technicians immediately initiated life-saving measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). A passing motorist reported witnessing two EMS units transporting the woman with urgency to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, reflecting the speed and intensity of the first responders' efforts.
Despite what officials described as valiant and determined efforts by EMS personnel both on the scene and during transit, the woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
EMS management subsequently issued a statement offering deep condolences to the woman's grieving family and loved ones. The statement also commended the professionalism and dedication of the responding medical team — Coull Graham, Timra Mourillon, Deika Alfred, and Marina Walker — who were praised for their outstanding efforts under extremely challenging circumstances.
