The United Progressive Party (UPP) has promised to remove all duties and taxes on personal vehicle imports if the party wins the next general election, according to Antigua News Room.

The pledge was made by UPP representative Pringle during the party's ongoing campaign launch. As reported by Antigua News Room, Pringle outlined a series of vehicle-related tax relief measures that the party intends to implement upon taking office.

In addition to the full removal of duties on personal vehicle imports, Pringle announced that a UPP government would introduce a 50 per cent reduction on import taxes for commercial vehicles. Farmers would also benefit under the proposed policy, with all taxes on vehicles and agricultural equipment set to be eliminated entirely.
