United Progressive Party (UPP) Political Leader Jamale Pringle has revealed he faced intense internal pressure during the party's candidate selection process, likening the experience to having a "gun to his head."
According to Antigua.news, Pringle, who is also the UPP's candidate for the All Saints East and St. Luke constituency, made the remarks while addressing a campaign rally, offering a candid glimpse into the tensions that surfaced within the party leading up to the election.
Pringle specifically named longtime UPP member Dr. Philmore Benjamin as central to those pressures. Benjamin has since crossed the political aisle and is now contesting the St. Mary's North constituency as a candidate for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).
