A 30-year-old man is in stable condition at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after sustaining burns in a house fire that broke out in All Saints shortly before midnight, according to Antigua News Room.
The blaze destroyed a wooden home and spread to a neighbouring shop, leaving both structures extensively damaged. Firefighters worked to contain the flames as the fire threatened to cause further destruction in the area.
Emergency Medical Services transported the injured man to hospital, where he is receiving treatment for burns to his hands. Authorities described the burns as minor overall.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. An investigation is currently under way.
