Michael Freeland, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for the St George constituency, has expressed strong confidence that the party will return the seat to Labour representation in the upcoming general election.

According to Antigua.news, Freeland stated during an interview that his campaign has already made significant inroads across the constituency, even before an official election announcement has been made. He described St George as being "in a strong position" for Labour.

Freeland is set to face a new United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate, following the withdrawal of the seat's previous representative, Algernon Serpent Watts.

Despite the opposition's change in candidacy, Freeland downplayed its significance. He insisted that preparation, rather than personalities, will ultimately determine the outcome of the contest.
