Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) Chairman E.P. Chet Greene has declared that his party is entering the upcoming general election with the confidence to secure victories across every constituency in the country, citing growing momentum and shifting political allegiances.
According to Antigua News Room, Greene made the remarks during the party's official campaign launch, asserting that the ABLP views all seats as winnable — including those traditionally held by the opposition.
"All seats are in play," Greene said, crediting the party's grassroots outreach and community engagement for strengthening its position nationwide.
Greene pointed to recent public endorsements as tangible evidence of a changing political landscape. Among them, he highlighted support from individuals previously aligned with opposition forces.
"Tonight we saw… Billy King Warrior… coming out in public to endorse Comrade Lamin Newton," Greene said, describing the endorsement as a sign that the ABLP is expanding its appeal well beyond its traditional base.
The party's electoral strategy, Greene explained, centres on consolidating support in existing strongholds while simultaneously making inroads into opposition-held areas, with candidates actively canvassing voters across all communities.
"That tells you about the momentum and the bond that we are forging with people, even in constituencies which traditionally would have posed some problems for us," he said.
Greene also expressed strong confidence in the party's candidate slate, citing their professional backgrounds and community ties as key assets in broadening the ABLP's electoral appeal.
The remarks come as campaigning intensifies ahead of the general election, with the ABLP seeking to extend its hold on government and secure another term in office. Greene emphasised that the party's priority remains maintaining close connections with voters while pressing its campaign forward across all constituencies.
