ST. JOHN'S, Antigua — Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) leader Gaston Browne has called on voters to update their identification cards ahead of the April 30 general election, warning that failure to comply could bar them from casting their ballots.
According to Antigua News Room, Browne made the appeal while addressing supporters at the party's campaign launch at People's Place, urging all eligible voters to ensure they are properly registered and prepared before election day.
"Those of you who have not renewed your cards… do so immediately," Browne said, stressing the importance of electoral readiness.
He cautioned that delays could leave voters unable to participate and urged citizens to take no chances as the election draws near.
"Do not run any possibility of being disenfranchised inadvertently," he warned.
Browne also called on supporters to turn out early on polling day, emphasising that strong participation will be critical in shaping the country's direction.
The appeal comes as electoral preparations intensify ahead of Nomination Day on April 13, with both authorities and political parties encouraging voters to complete all necessary steps to secure their right to vote.
The general election is scheduled for April 30.
