All Saints East and St. Luke — long considered one of the United Progressive Party's most secure constituencies — is shaping up to be among the most closely watched contests in the upcoming general election, as Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party candidate Lamin Newton mounts a determined challenge against Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle.
According to Antigua.news, Newton spoke with reporter Robert Emmanuel following the ABLP's campaign launch on Tuesday night, expressing confidence that momentum on the ground is shifting in his favour.
The constituency has remained firmly in UPP hands for more than three decades, cementing its reputation as a political fortress for the opposition party. Newton, however, believes that long-standing narrative is about to change.
His candidacy has drawn significant attention, with observers noting that a successful bid would represent a historic upset in one of the UPP's most reliable strongholds.
