The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has set an April 10 deadline for electors seeking to finalise constituency transfer requests ahead of the April 30 snap general election, according to Antigua.news.
In a public notice, ABEC stated that electors who applied on or before February 28, 2026, to transfer from one constituency to another must complete the process by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10 at the Commission's headquarters. Any elector who misses the deadline will be required to vote in their original constituency, regardless of having submitted a transfer request.
ABEC also confirmed that individuals who registered to vote for the first time on or before February 28 will be eligible to cast their ballots in the upcoming election. The Commission said the claims and objections process has been completed, and the names of newly registered voters have been officially added to the List of Electors.
The announcement comes as the country enters an increasingly active campaign period, with political activity intensifying across constituencies in the lead-up to Election Day.
ABEC has thanked members of the public for their cooperation and is urging all eligible voters to verify that their registration details are in order before April 30.
