The Antigua and Barbuda Dental Association (ABDA) marked a significant shift in its public health outreach strategy this week, trading traditional school-based essay competitions for the country's first-ever oral health awareness street parade. According to Antigua Observer, the high-energy procession wound through the capital, signalling a bold new approach to engaging the public on dental health matters.

Dr. Dickenson, Chairman of the ABDA, confirmed that the association made a deliberate decision to take its advocacy directly to the streets, moving away from formats that have historically reached only students in classroom settings. The parade drew attention and participation from members of the public as it made its way through the capital.

The initiative represents a historic departure for the ABDA, which has long relied on conventional awareness methods. By bringing its message into the heart of the community, the association aims to reach a broader and more diverse audience than previous campaigns have managed.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the event is the first of its kind in the nation's history, underscoring the association's commitment to finding new and impactful ways to promote oral health across Antigua and Barbuda.
