Villa Polyclinic will offer free HPV testing on select weekends in April and May as part of an initiative aimed at reducing cervical cancer risk through early detection, according to Antigua News Room.
The testing sessions will run on Saturday and Sunday, April 18–19, May 9–10, and May 16–17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Health officials are encouraging eligible women to take advantage of the free service, stressing that HPV testing plays a critical role in cervical cancer prevention.
The initiative is open to women between the ages of 30 and 65, women who have never previously undergone an HPV test, and women who have not had surgery to remove the entire uterus. Organizers also confirmed that women who have already had a Pap smear remain eligible for the test.
The campaign highlights the importance of regular screening, with organizers emphasizing that early detection can be lifesaving.
