The Antigua and Barbuda Coast Guard has officially called off its search for three fishermen who went missing at sea nearly a month ago, following an extensive multi-island rescue operation, according to Antigua News Room.
Devon Prince, Adrian Price, and Carlton Pitt departed Urlings on March 11 for a routine fishing trip and never returned. Search efforts covered a broad stretch of regional waters, including areas near Martinique, Guadeloupe, and St. Kitts and Nevis. Despite the wide-ranging operation, only an engine cover and a cooler belonging to the vessel were recovered.
Authorities said the decision to suspend the search was reached in coordination with regional partners. Officials cited fears that the vessel may have submerged as a factor in concluding the operation.
As reported by Antigua News Room, some relatives of the missing men continue to hold out hope, even as the formal search has ended. The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force has extended its condolences to the families, while the broader community continues to await answers.
