Two men were arrested in the early hours of Sunday after an altercation with police officers at Paradise Casino escalated into a brief but unsuccessful escape attempt.
According to Antigua News Room, the incident unfolded during an interaction between the two men and officers at the casino. The circumstances that initially led to the confrontation remain unclear.
During the encounter, the younger of the two men allegedly opened the door of a police pickup vehicle and attempted to flee custody. Officers responded swiftly, surrounding the individual and returning him to the vehicle before the escape could progress further.
Both men were subsequently taken into custody. No serious injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Police investigations into the altercation are ongoing.
