The United Progressive Party (UPP) has officially named Adrian Williams as its candidate for the St. John's City South constituency in the upcoming general election, according to Antigua.news.
The selection was finalised during a meeting of the UPP's Central Executive Committee on April 1, which party officials described as successful. In a notable development, the party waived its standard membership requirement to allow Williams to contest the seat.
UPP Political Leader Jamale Pringle announced the decision, with the party's full slate of candidates set to be formally ratified at a General Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 7.
In a statement, the UPP extended congratulations to all selected candidates and constituency branches, commending them for completing the internal processes required ahead of the final ratification stage.
The announcement reflects the party's continued preparations for the impending general election, with focus now shifting to the official endorsement of its full team of candidates.
