The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has released 50 acres of land in the Burkes Estate – MacPond area of All Saints for sale under its expanded Land Empowerment Programme, with monthly payments starting as low as $175.
The lands, recently transferred to the Crown from the House Antigua project, are now available for purchase through the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHAPA).
Of the total acreage, 35 acres have been designated for immediate sale as residential house plots, averaging approximately 6,000 square feet each and priced at $3 per square foot. Qualified applicants may purchase land over a 10-year period, with monthly payments beginning at $175.
The remaining 15 acres will be made available at a concessional rate of $1 per square foot. This reduced pricing applies specifically to individuals who have occupied those lands for more than 20 years, providing long-standing residents with formal security of tenure.
The Land Empowerment Programme was designed to give low- and middle-income earners — particularly first-time landowners — access to residential plots at affordable rates, supporting social mobility and economic inclusion.
The initiative falls under broader national housing and land development strategies being implemented through CHAPA, which also include the construction of affordable homes and the redevelopment of lands into serviced residential communities.
Interested persons are encouraged to contact CHAPA to apply.
