The Antigua and Barbuda Senate approved two significant pieces of legislation on Tuesday in what marked its final official act before Parliament is dissolved ahead of the upcoming general elections.
According to Antigua Observer, the Senate passed both the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission Bill 2026 and the Special Economic Zone (Amendment) Bill 2026, clearing the legislative agenda as the country moves toward the electoral period.
The passage of the two bills represents a notable push to finalise outstanding legislative business before the dissolution of Parliament, with lawmakers ensuring both measures were enacted before the house closes ahead of the general elections.
