The Police Administration is reminding business owners and the public that the sale of alcohol will be prohibited across Antigua and Barbuda on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, according to Antigua.news.

The restriction is enforced under the Licensing (Intoxicating Liquor) (Amendment) Act, No. 9 of 2014. All premises licensed to sell, display, or store alcohol for retail purposes must remain closed for the entirety of the day, with the sole exceptions being establishments that hold a hotel, tavern, or club licence.

The restriction takes effect at midnight on Thursday, April 2, and remains in force until midnight on Good Friday.

Business operators found in violation of the law face serious consequences, including cancellation of their liquor licence and additional penalties.

The Police Administration has called on all affected businesses to ensure full compliance and expressed appreciation to the public for their continued cooperation.
