The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus opened its doors to the public Wednesday for Wellness Expo 2026, offering free health screenings, live demonstrations, and community wellness activities.
According to Antigua.news, the event ran under the theme "FIC Wellness in Action" with the tagline "Your health is your wealth," and was open to all members of the public at no cost.
Attendees had access to free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI, and vision. Additional screenings for HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, HPV, and prostate conditions were also made available on campus grounds.
Beyond the health screenings, the expo drew participation from school children across the island. Students from Golden Grove Primary and Five Islands Primary School took part in demonstrations covering first aid, disaster preparedness, and fire safety. A Zumba session was also held as part of the day's wellness programming.
