A man has been convicted on three counts of aggravated robbery following a brazen home invasion targeting elderly residents at the exclusive Mill Reef Club, with sentencing scheduled for the end of the month.

According to Antigua.news, Justice Ann Marie Smith delivered the guilty verdict against Marlon Carr following a judge-alone trial. Sentencing is set for April 30.

Carr was among three men originally charged in connection with the April 6, 2022 attack. His co-accused had already resolved their cases separately. Rickardo Bussawan of Villa pleaded guilty on all three counts in 2024 and received a sentence of eight years and six months. Charges against the third accused, Delon Wills, were eventually dropped. Carr elected to contest the charges — and lost.

The trial heard testimony from the three victims: a couple and their female houseguest, all in their seventies. The group described more than an hour of terror during which the intruders bound them with duct tape and forced the male victim to unlock a safe. The robbers fled with cash, jewellery, an iPad, and other valuables.
