A magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck near Antigua early Tuesday morning, according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre. As reported by Antigua News Room, no immediate damage or injuries have been recorded.
The tremor was detected at 7:33 a.m. local time, at a depth of 17 kilometres. Its epicentre was located approximately 79 kilometres southeast of St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda.
The quake was also measured 73 kilometres northeast of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and 112 kilometres east of Brades, Montserrat.
The Seismic Research Centre noted that the data was automatically generated by computer systems and may be subject to revision following further analysis.
