Antigua and Barbuda sent representatives to a regional roundtable in Kingston, Jamaica, focused on advancing discussions toward a Treaty on the Protection of Persons in the Event of Disasters (PPED), according to Antigua Observer.
Dr. Jose Humphreys, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society, participated in the meeting alongside Crown Counsel in the Attorney General's Chambers, Annetta Jackson.
The roundtable brought together regional stakeholders to move forward deliberations on the proposed treaty, which aims to establish formal protections for persons affected by disasters across the region.
