A 24-year-old All Saints man has been charged with murder and remanded in custody following the stabbing death of a fellow community member last month.

Jermaine Nicholas appeared before a magistrate this morning in connection with the killing of Jahmarley Pierre, 29, according to Antigua.news. As murder falls outside the jurisdiction of the Magistrates' Court to grant bail, Nicholas was remanded to prison. His case is scheduled to return to court on June 3 for committal proceedings.

Pierre died on the afternoon of March 25 after he was stabbed near the All Saints traffic lights following a confrontation with another male. Emergency responders transported him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
