A 16-year-old student who was seriously wounded in a stabbing at the West Bus Station has returned to classes, marking a significant recovery milestone following what could have been a fatal incident.

According to Antigua.news, Jakeem Benjamin, a student of Ottos Comprehensive School, is back in the classroom after receiving treatment for multiple stab wounds sustained during a February 27 altercation at the busy transportation hub.

Police say the teenager suffered several puncture wounds to the left side of his abdomen. He was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he received emergency medical care. Although his injuries were initially classified as serious, Benjamin has since made steady progress and is reported to be doing well.

A 16-year-old boy from Bendals was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Investigations into the stabbing remain ongoing.
