The Ministry of Works' Project Implementation Management Unit (PIMU) is advising the public that single-lane traffic will remain in effect on three major roadways as infrastructure repair works continue.
On Sir Sydney Walling Highway, crews are carrying out guardrail installations, road markings, asphalt repairs, and junction and shoulder repairs in the vicinity of Pares Village heading westwards. Work begins daily at approximately 8:00 a.m. Asphalt repairs are subject to material availability.
On Valley Road North, road markings and asphalt repairs — also subject to asphalt availability — are ongoing, commencing each day at approximately 8:00 a.m. Road marking works on Old Parham Road are similarly continuing from approximately 8:00 a.m. daily.
Flag persons will be deployed at all active work sites. Motorists are urged to follow all instructions from flag personnel, as heavy-duty equipment will be operating in close proximity to traffic.
All businesses in the affected areas remain open and accessible.
The road works are being carried out by C.O. Williams Ltd. as part of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda's Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project. The company has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
Stakeholders are asked to adjust their travel plans to accommodate potential delays. Telephone queries may be directed to the C.O. Williams Project office.
