Prime Minister Gaston Browne has delivered a pointed, constituency-by-constituency assessment of United Progressive Party candidates, questioning their visibility, preparedness and overall presence ahead of the next general election.
According to Antigua News Room, Browne made the remarks during his Browne and Browne radio programme, naming multiple opposition candidates individually and offering commentary on their campaign activity and community engagement.
Of all the UPP candidates assessed, Browne singled out Emmanuel Peters and Jonathan Joseph as the only two with a notable presence on the ground — though he maintained that even they face long odds in their respective constituencies.
The extended segment reflected a broader effort by the Prime Minister to frame the electoral landscape ahead of what is expected to be a competitive general election cycle. As political campaigning intensifies across Antigua and Barbuda, the commentary underscores the ruling Antigua Labour Party's focus on contrasting its own candidate activity with that of the opposition.
The UPP has not yet publicly responded to Browne's remarks.
