An Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party supporter from the Montrulla area has issued a public warning to his constituency representative, threatening to withdraw votes if the long-promised concrete road linking All Saints Road through to Buckleys and Olivers remains unfinished before the upcoming general election. According to Antigua.news, the appeal was made in an open letter addressed to Minister of Infrastructure Anthony Smith and Minister of Public Works Maria Bird-Browne.

The letter writer, Henry Fuller, states that Minister Smith — referred to by his nickname "Mr. Legit" — recorded a video in September 2024 at night in Montrulla, near a roadside shed, promising to concrete the road from All Saints Road into the Buckleys and Olivers communities. Fuller says that beyond initial scraping of the road surface, no further work has been carried out.

Fuller further alleges that the Ministry of Public Works graded the road and then abandoned it, redirecting resources to other areas including Golden Grove Extension, Jennings Extension, Liberta, Seaview Farm, Mount Pleasant, and All Saints Village, where concrete pouring has been ongoing. He argues it is unfair that the Montrulla road has been left in a worse condition than when Public Works first intervened.

"Every time it rains, the road is extremely muddy, cars are sliding everywhere, and there are newly formed potholes," Fuller wrote, describing the situation as "purely disgraceful." He adds that residents who own cars, vans, and pickup trucks have all complained that the deteriorating road surface is causing damage to their vehicles.

With the general election approaching next month, Fuller issued a direct political warning to Minister Smith, stating that unless work on the road commences, he and his family — representing two households in Olivers and All Saints, both within Smith's constituency — will not cast their votes for him. He added that neighbouring residents have expressed the same intention.

"You start the road, finish it as you promised," Fuller wrote, calling on both Minister Smith and Prime Minister and Minister of Works Maria Bird-Browne to act immediately. He described the road as a "vital artery" for the community.

Despite his frustration, Fuller identified himself as a committed ABLP supporter, closing his letter with a pledge that once the road is fixed, he and his neighbours remain willing to back Minister Smith at the polls. He described the appeal as his "last and final" on the matter.
