A 46-year-old woman died Friday night after her vehicle veered off the road and struck a fence in Freetown, according to Antigua News Room.

The woman, who was driving a rental car, is believed to have lost consciousness moments before the crash occurred, shortly after 7 p.m. Initial reports suggest a medical episode may have preceded the incident.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene but were unable to revive her. She was pronounced dead at the location.

Authorities have not yet released additional details. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
