A 35-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash along the Crabbs Peninsula main road on Friday evening, according to Antigua.news — one of two fatal road incidents recorded within the span of a single hour.

Preliminary reports indicate the man was travelling near the YIDA Special Economic Zone when he lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the roadway and overturned into nearby bushes.

Emergency Medical Services responded promptly, pulling the driver from the wreckage and administering CPR at the scene before transporting him to hospital. Despite those efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

The crash was not an isolated tragedy. Earlier that same evening, EMS responded to a separate fatal incident in Freetown, where a female motorist lost her life after her vehicle collided with a fence. First responders believe she may have lost consciousness prior to the crash.

Authorities are continuing investigations into both incidents.
