ST. JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda — Two suspects are in police custody in connection with the fatal shooting of two young residents in the Villa area, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda announced Friday.

The male suspects, aged 19 and 24, are assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries into the deaths of 17-year-old Omarie Lewis and 18-year-old Brianna Clarke, both of Hans Street.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Serious Crimes Unit, Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit (FERU), and St. John's Police Station responded to a report of a shooting in the Villa area. Upon arrival, officers found both victims lying motionless outside their residence. A medical doctor pronounced both individuals dead at 11:53 a.m. and 11:54 a.m., respectively.

Investigations remain ongoing.
