St. Philip's North Member of Parliament Randy Baltimore is moving to expand economic opportunities for young people and local contractors as infrastructure development projects advance in the constituency.
According to Antigua News Room, Baltimore recently convened a meeting with contractors from across St. Philip's North to discuss upcoming works, including road improvements and the construction of curbs, drains, gutters, and sidewalks.
The MP said the discussions focused on ensuring that development projects generate tangible economic benefits for residents, with particular emphasis on young people and small contractors seeking to participate in the work.
Baltimore described the initiative as part of a broader commitment to deliver on campaign promises centred on empowerment and economic participation. He said the goal is to provide "real opportunities" and meaningful involvement for residents, directly linking infrastructure development with job creation and community advancement.
The MP added that such efforts are essential to building the constituency and ensuring that growth is felt at the local level, rather than bypassing the communities it is intended to serve.
