Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle was removed from Wednesday's sitting of Parliament following a heated confrontation with Speaker of the House Osbert Frederick, according to Antigua.news.

Pringle, who serves as the Member of Parliament for All Saints East and St Luke, sparked the altercation after accusing the government of treating him unfairly. He argued that he had not been given sufficient time to print supporting documentation he intended to use as evidence during his contributions on the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission Bill, 2026.

The situation escalated sharply when Pringle directly told Speaker Frederick that he did not respect his authority — a declaration that preceded his ejection from the chamber.

As reported by Antigua.news, Frederick subsequently ordered Pringle's removal from the sitting, a rare and significant parliamentary sanction against a sitting Opposition Leader.
