The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has formally charged 24-year-old Jermaine Nicholas of Ovals, All Saints, with the murder of 29-year-old Jahmarie Pierre of Mc Pond, All Saints.
The fatal incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, in the vicinity of the All Saints traffic lights. Shortly after 5:00 p.m., Pierre became involved in an altercation with another male and sustained a stab wound. He was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities arrested Nicholas shortly after the incident and took him into police custody. He has since been formally charged and is expected to make his first court appearance sometime next week.
The Police Administration extended thanks to the public for their continued support and assistance in this and other matters. The force also issued an appeal to young adults to refrain from violent conduct and to resolve disputes through peaceful and lawful means.
