A 24-year-old All Saints resident has been formally charged with murder following a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of a young man last month.
According to Antigua.news, police arrested and charged Jermaine Nicholas of Ovals, All Saints, in connection with the death of 29-year-old Jahmarie Pierre of Mc Pond, All Saints.
The incident occurred on March 25 near the All Saints traffic lights. Pierre sustained stab wounds during an altercation shortly after 5:00 p.m. and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities apprehended Nicholas shortly after the incident took place. He has since been formally charged and is expected to appear before the court next week.
Police have thanked the public for their cooperation and are urging young adults to resolve disputes through peaceful means.
