A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck the region on Friday evening, with no immediate reports of damage or injuries in Antigua and Barbuda, according to Antigua News Room.
The Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies recorded the quake at 5:26 p.m. local time. It occurred at a depth of 142 kilometres, with its epicentre positioned at latitude 17.94 north and longitude 63.46 west.
The SRC placed the earthquake approximately 201 kilometres southeast of St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. It was also located roughly 107 kilometres southeast of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and 188 kilometres southeast of Brades, Montserrat.
Authorities reported no immediate damage or injuries across the affected region following the tremor.
The SRC cautioned that the epicentre location was automatically generated by computer algorithms and remains subject to revision pending further analysis.
