The Commonwealth of Dominica has suspended the processing of citizenship applications from Iranian nationals under its Citizenship by Investment programme, effective March 24, 2026. According to Antigua News Room, the decision was outlined in an official memorandum dated March 23, 2026, issued by the country's Citizenship by Investment Unit.

The memorandum does not impose an outright ban, but sets strict conditions under which applications from Iranian nationals may still be considered. Applicants must demonstrate that they have not resided in Iran for at least 10 years, hold no substantial assets in the country, and have not conducted any business or similar activity in or with Iran.

The directive was addressed to authorized agents operating within the programme, instructing them to be guided by the new requirements.

Gregory McDougall, acting director of the Citizenship by Investment Unit, signed the memorandum.
