Kendra Beazer has declared that development and expanding opportunities for Barbudans will be the cornerstone of his campaign as he prepares to contest the Barbuda seat under the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) banner.
According to Antigua News Room, Beazer, a former Barbuda Council member, said his decision to align with the ABLP was driven by the party's capacity to meaningfully address the concerns of Barbuda's residents.
"It was more based on the people that I vow to represent and the capacity that the party has to really provide me with what I would need or what the people would need to address their concerns on Barbuda," Beazer told ABS.
Beazer outlined a campaign agenda focused on both physical infrastructure and social development across the island. He identified health, education, and waste management as among his key priority areas.
"Much of what I will be pushing is along that line. Infrastructure development, where the island is concerned, around the different key areas, health, education, waste management, and so forth, and then people-based development around education and meeting some of their social needs," he said.
Beyond infrastructure, Beazer stressed the importance of ensuring that Barbudans are positioned to take advantage of economic opportunities that emerge as the island grows.
"While the place develops physically, the capacity of the people also develops itself," he added.
