A trial date is set to be scheduled for a man accused of causing the death of a medical student in a 2022 collision on Friars Hill Road, following a case management hearing slated for April 24.
According to Antigua News Room, Karim Edwards appeared before Justice Rajiv Persaud in the High Court on Friday. Edwards, who entered a not guilty plea last month, faces charges of causing death by reckless driving and reckless driving, stemming from the October 23, 2022 collision.
The crash claimed the life of Kenneth Mathew, who sustained severe brain injuries and died just over a week after the incident.
A second victim, Priyanjana Das, survived the collision but suffered life-altering injuries, including the loss of her right arm, fractures to her left arm, and pelvic injuries.
Edwards is represented in the matter by attorney Wendel Alexander.
