A man charged in connection with a fatal collision on Friars Hill Road will have his trial date set following a case management hearing scheduled for April 24, according to Antigua.news.

Karim Edwards appeared before Justice Rajiv Persaud in the High Court on Friday, where the upcoming hearing date was confirmed. Edwards entered a not guilty plea last month.

Edwards faces charges of causing death by reckless driving and reckless driving, arising from an October 23, 2022 collision that claimed the life of medical student Kenneth Mathew and left fellow student Priyanjana Das with life-altering injuries.

Mathew sustained severe brain trauma in the crash and died just over a week later. Das survived but lost her right arm, suffered fractures to her left arm, and sustained pelvic injuries.

Both Mathew and Das were students at the American University of Antigua (AUA) at the time of the collision.

Edwards is represented by Attorney Wendel Alexander.
