The murder case against Angela Mejia, charged in connection with the death of nine-year-old Chantel Crump, has been committed to the May Assizes after prosecutors filed their exhibit list in the St. John's Magistrates' Court on Monday.
According to Antigua News Room, prosecutors presented an updated list of at least 28 items of evidence. Among them are two CD-ROMs — one reported to contain approximately 40 crime scene photographs and another holding more than 150 autopsy images. The evidence package also includes a pathology report and a flash drive said to contain forensic material linked to Chantel Crump.
Physical exhibits listed by investigators include items of clothing recovered from the scene: a Five Islands Primary School uniform, pink and white underwear, black school shoes, and a white vest. Prosecutors also listed two KFC bags and cups, as well as a flashlight.
A trial date before a judge and jury is expected to be scheduled when the matter comes before the High Court during the May Assizes.
