A procedural issue has emerged in Prime Minister Gaston Browne's lawsuit against a U.S.-based lawyer, according to Antigua News Room, with legal documents reportedly not served in accordance with required rules.
Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan disclosed the development during an appearance on the Browne and Browne programme. He explained that while the law firm in question was properly served, the applicable rules require that the individual lawyer be served personally — a step that was not carried out.
The distinction between serving a law firm and serving an individual lawyer personally is a procedural requirement that could have implications for how the case proceeds.
