An 85-year-old disabled man is recovering after two masked, armed intruders forced their way into his home and stole $2,000 in cash in a brazen daylight robbery. According to Antigua News Room, the incident took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. on March 19 in the Creekside area.

The elderly victim was reportedly in bed at the time of the invasion, with the exterior door to his bedroom left open. The two men entered through that opening before the situation turned violent.

As reported by Antigua News Room, one of the intruders issued a verbal warning before his accomplice approached the victim directly, pressed a firearm to his face, and demanded money. The victim then directed the men to a nearby envelope containing the cash.

A second suspect, said to be armed with a cutlass, allegedly ordered the man to move before seizing the envelope. Both men then fled the property through the same entry point they had used to gain access.

The attack has raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of elderly and disabled residents to violent crime in their own homes.
