The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has confirmed a two-day Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) holiday next month, aimed at easing the financial burden on families preparing for the new school term. According to Antigua Observer, the zero percent tax holiday is scheduled for April 10 and 11.

The temporary measure is designed to provide targeted financial relief to households ahead of the reopening of schools. By suspending the ABST on essential items during those two days, the government hopes to reduce the cost of back-to-school shopping for families across the twin-island nation.

The announcement reflects the Cabinet's recognition of the economic pressures many households face during the back-to-school period, when demand for uniforms, stationery, and other supplies typically drives up spending.
