Opposition Member of Parliament Richard S. Lewis has intervened to provide temporary road relief in Gray's Hill, while pressing authorities to deliver permanent repairs to what he describes as dangerously deteriorating road conditions.

According to Antigua News Room, Lewis took to social media to highlight the frustration of residents in the area, stating that they have been "crying out for well-needed roadworks" but have received no response from the relevant authorities. He warned that the poor road conditions have put both motorists and pedestrians at risk.

Lewis confirmed that he assisted in arranging temporary measures to address some of the most pressing issues affecting the roadway. However, he was clear that the intervention falls short of what the community needs.

"The work continues," Lewis wrote, signalling that he intends to keep advocating for a lasting solution.

Residents of St. John's Rural West have long raised concerns about the deteriorating state of roads in the area, with repeated calls for upgrades to improve safety and accessibility. Lewis indicated he will maintain pressure on authorities until permanent repairs are carried out.
