An urgent appeal for blood donations has been issued on behalf of Joseph Anthony, a man currently hospitalised in Antigua and in critical need of support.
According to Antigua News Room, the appeal was made publicly by Member of Parliament Kelvin "Shugy" Simon via social media, urging residents to act without delay.
"Joseph Anthony is currently in the hospital and urgently needs blood. Any blood type can help — your donation could save his life," Simon's post read.
Donors are being directed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where officials have confirmed that all blood types are needed. The appeal emphasised the urgency of the situation and called on the wider community to respond as quickly as possible.
"Let's come together ASAP and support this family in their time of need," Simon added in his post.
Health authorities regularly depend on public generosity to sustain adequate blood supplies, especially in emergency cases where immediate transfusions are required. Members of the public are also being encouraged to share the appeal widely to maximise its reach.
