A female taxi driver from Bethesda has been charged with five offences following an altercation with a police officer on Long Street, according to Antigua News Room.
Denicia Martin faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, failing to comply with a lawful police direction, and using indecent and abusive language — all stemming from an incident on March 16.
The case drew significant public attention after video footage of the encounter circulated widely online.
Martin appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, who granted her bail set at $4,500, comprising $1,000 cash and two sureties. As conditions of her release, Martin must report to the Gray's Farm Police Station three times per week and surrender her passport.
