A committal hearing for a 24-year-old man accused in the death of a visiting Guyanese law student has been adjourned to June 3, according to Antigua.news. The prosecution has been ordered to serve the defence with the full case file by April 15.

Victor Ince of Lightfoot West appeared in court this morning, where Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel set the new date for the committal proceedings and issued the directive requiring the prosecution to hand over case materials ahead of the hearing.

Authorities have charged Ince with two offences: forcibly seizing and confining 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, and unlawfully causing her death.

The incident occurred on May 7, 2025, at Judges Estate. Abraham, a University of Guyana law student, had travelled to Antigua to visit a personal friend. She was discovered unresponsive along a by-road connecting New Winthorpes Village to the Jabberwock main road.
