The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) Coast Guard has mobilised local and regional resources in an active search and rescue operation for three fishermen aboard the overdue fishing vessel 'Faith P', according to Antigua News Room.
The Coast Guard received notification of the missing vessel at approximately 5:40 pm on Thursday, 12th March 2026. The three men had departed at 7:00 am the previous day, fishing approximately 12.5 nautical miles south/south-west of Barbuda, and had failed to return to port as expected. The individuals aboard FV Faith P have been identified as Devon Prince (alias Grease Gun), Adrian Pryce (alias Ivan), and Carlton Pitt (alias Nagamootoo).
As reported by Antigua News Room, sea conditions at the time the vessel was reported overdue were notably unfavourable, prompting authorities to immediately escalate the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation to its Distress phase. An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) continues to air cyclically on VHF Channel 16, placing mariners operating within the general search area on high alert.
The Coast Guard has since coordinated efforts with multiple agencies, including the ABDF Air Wing, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Fort-de-France in Martinique, Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR), Barbuda Fisheries, and members of the Urlings fishermen community.
The ABDF has assured the families of the missing men and the general public that no effort will be spared in the search operation. Anyone with information that may assist in locating FV Faith P is urged to contact the Coast Guard hotline at 268-462-3206 or 462-2841(2)(3), or Operations Officer Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Randolph Best directly at 268-729-5802.
