Repairs to the All Saints Clinic are nearing completion, with an official announcement on the facility expected within days.

The update was delivered during the weekly post-Cabinet media briefing by Maurice Merchant, Director General of Communications in the Office of the Prime Minister. Merchant confirmed the work has been progressing despite public concerns about the pace of repairs.

"Yes, work has been done. It's near completion," Merchant said when asked about the clinic's status, adding that a formal update from the relevant ministry was imminent.

"I think that we should have an announcement from the ministry, if not tomorrow, by next week," he said.

Merchant attributed the length of the repair process to the scale of neglect the facility had endured over decades. The Ministry of Works has been carrying out the repairs, which he noted address issues that had been accumulating since the early 2000s.

"Everybody will think that these reconstruction and repairs that have not been done for many, many years—leading back into the early 2000s and so forth—those are repairs that can be done at the snap of a finger," Merchant said.

He emphasised that restoring ageing government infrastructure requires patience and sustained effort. "It takes time, and the Ministry of Works has been doing its best in trying to get all of government's facilities up to speed," Merchant said.
